Fancy a good mystery? Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot should keep you enthralled.

If you want exciting children's stories they don't come much better than Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. We also have the classic fairy tale collection by Hans Christian Anderson including The Red Shoes and The Emperor's New Clothes. Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn are American classics. Read the original Jungle Book, very different to the cartoon version but an excellent read.

Horror stories? Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is one of the best.

We even have some of the first science fiction ever written. The Time Machine and The War of the Worlds by H.G Wells.

All of these books have been turned into major movies, and for good reason. They are all powerful stories. Read the original books that inspired the film. All of them are FREE.
